These include a new Borgeson CPP power brake system (drums), rebuilt Borg-Warner T-10 4-speed with new clutch, upgraded cooling system, rebuilt carburetors, and power steering.
The exact date of the initial build is unknown, but it appears to have low mileage.
The 2-stage urethane Roman Red paint and Biscayne body looks fantastic and straight. There appears to be no rust or bubbling anywhere. Exterior chrome is in excellent condition as well as the glass. Factory lights and turn signals all function.
The 409 cu. in. V8 is a ’64 vintage block treated to a solid lifter cam, 10:1 pistons and of course the dual Carter AFB 4-barrels on top of an aluminum intake manifold. The ignition has been upgraded to an MSD unit with the 6AL box. Both exhaust manifolds and intake have been treated to a heat-resistant clear coat to maintain their appearance. The new exhaust and fuel system were added when the Biscayne had the frame-off build.
The interior is a traditional red cloth and vinyl to match the exterior. Everything from the door panels, rubber matting, and headliner were replaced when the car was restored. There are no tears or broken seams anywhere. Rod added seatbelts and had the tachometer replaced to a period correct unit. All factory gauges function as well as the AutoMeter water temperature, oil pressure, and voltmeter.
Even though the suspension appears stock all the components including the springs and frame were painted gloss black. New bushings, CPP Borgeson power steering and front suspension parts and shocks were recently added. The Chevy still rides on 14” wheels, hubcaps, and nylon tires.
If you are looking for a great show quality muscle car representing a bygone era from the early 1960’s this 1962 Biscayne 409 is real fine!!!
