DESCRIPTION:
Up for sale by a private party is this very rare 1968 Plymouth Barracuda convertible 340-S which is numbers matching and certified by Galen Govier (documentation is included and in photos). This is possibly one of one which was originally sold through a Canadian dealership and built for Canadian specifications. The Barracuda is in excellent condition and has been with the fourth and current owner since 2010. Estimated mileage since restoration is 29,000.
According to the documentation the Barracuda underwent a restoration in late 1999 – 2000 which included the paint, engine, transmission, and suspension. The present owner had a new top and complete numbers matching interior done shortly after purchasing the car. It won as a Senior Champion and Senior Grand Champion with the AACA (Antique Automobile Club of America).
The Ember Gold Metallic 2-stage urethane paint is in excellent condition and shows the car has always been garage kept. It appears all the body panels, floor pans, doors, and fenders are original to the car.
The 340 V-8 starts easily and runs strong and was rebuilt to stock specifications using Keith Black pistons and rods and a stock lift & duration hydraulic cam. One change to the engine is the Carter carburetor. The original was an AVS and the one on there now is an AFB 600 cfm (original carburetor is not included). Everything else appears to be matching from the intake manifold to the engine block, to the exhaust manifolds to the transmission.
All the interior and exterior lights and options function, except the clock. Power top goes up and down easily (see video).

The only changes from stock appear to be the period correct 15” Cragar wheels with B.F. Goodrich 275/60R/15 rear and 225/50R/15 front tires.
