DESCRIPTION:
Beautifully restored 1966 Ford Mustang ‘C’ code coupe powered by the original, but rebuilt, 289 cu in Windsor Ford V8 2-barrel rated at 200 horsepower and backed by the matching C4 3-speed automatic transmission, and 8” rear differential with 2.80:1 open gears. This model came with optional power steering, AM radio, and 2-speed wipers. Total mileage since it was restored approximately 12,000 in 10 years.

This Mustang was taken apart and repainted in a Sapphire blue metallic (originally burgundy) 2-stage urethane with new weather stripping and some rechroming or replacement of trim. Rear taillights were replaced with LED items. It does appear both rear quarter panels were replaced. The floors and torque boxes appear solid with no holes or rust. All the windows operate easily and the doors shut firmly. There are a few exterior blemishes from driving and attending shows (not a trailer queen), but overall it is in excellent condition.
The owner opted for the pony seats when the interior was redone and it looks fantastic. Also, aftermarket water temperature, voltmeter, and oil pressure gauges were added. The factory speedometer/odometer, fuel, and ammeter work. Oil pressure and temperature were not reconnected in favor of the newer gauges. Additionally, all door handles, window cranks, carpeting, headliner, and door panels were replaced. Aftermarket head rests and removeable arm rest were added too. All the wiring was inspected and repaired where needed.
The 289 cu in V8 is believed to be the original engine which has been rebuilt to stock specs. The transmission was redone about 15 years ago. Gas tank and fuel system were also replaced.
The suspension was also redone with new bushings, rebuilt power steering pump, shocks, and springs.
