Beautifully restored 1957 Chevy Nomad powered by the original and numbers matching 283 cu. in. “Power Pack” V8 rated at 245 horsepower and backed by a PowerGlide 2-speed automatic transmission. Factory options include power brakes, power steering, Wonder Bar Radio, and clock (both work). This Chevy is believed to have had a frame-off restoration by a Midwest shop during the late 2000’s and has logged only 12,900 miles attending shows and cruise events. Documentation for the work done is NOT included.
The body and paint are in excellent condition and appear straight for a black 2-stage urethane paint job. All the chrome and glass look to either be replated or replaced and are in very good condition. All the external lights function including headlights, taillights, brake, and back up.
The 283 “Power Pack” V8 starts easily and runs smoothly. It runs on regular gas with a factory compression ratio of 9.5:1. The PowerGlide transmission shifts easily and shows no evidence of slipping. There appears to be no leaks in either the engine, transmission, or rear differential.
The interior looks fantastic in the original red and black factory colors and black carpeting. The factory interior gauges function, all the chrome is in excellent condition and the owner even put protective plastic around the door sills to prevent any dirt or stains from getting on the carpeting.
The chassis appears to have all new body mount bushings and the entire stock suspension has been redone with new springs, shocks, and bushings. Factory under coating was also added during the restoration. The wide white wall tires are radials which measure 205/75R/14.
This Nomad has won multiple shows including the Best of Show at Super Chevy in Reading, PA.
No disappointments
