Up for sale is this Beautiful Black Cherry Metallic 1982 Pontiac Firebird “Street Machine” powered by a modified 350 cu in Chevrolet V8, backed by a Turbo 350 3-speed automatic transmission, and 3.73 posi-traction rear differential. The owner purchased the Firebird over 30 years ago when it was used for daily transportation and powered by the original V6 and 4-speed. The current build was completed about 5 years ago and has only logged about 2,000 miles attending local cruise-in’s and car shows.
The 2-stage urethane paint job looks good and has a lot of metallic in it. Outside of the 4” cowl hood the body on the Firebird is stock. There does not appear to be much in the way of bodywork and the floors are solid. All the glass is in good condition. The hide-a-way headlights, brake lights, and turn signals all function.
The 350 cu. in. Chevy V8 has a mild hydraulic cam, March pulleys, Edelbrock 650 cfm carburetor and intake manifold, HEI ignition with an MSD 6AL box, long tube headers and a Holley electric fuel pump. Horsepower is estimated at 300.
The Turbo 350 transmission shifts smoothly using a 2500 stall convertor and shift kit.
The stock rear differential houses 3.73:1 posi-traction gears and ‘Torque Arm’ traction bar is bolted to the housing. Crager 15” wheels with Yokohama 195/60R/15’s up front and 205/60R/15’s in the rear.
The interior is tastefully reupholstered in black vinyl with red velour inserts. It’s in excellent condition and appears to have no stains or broken seams. All the factory gauges function including the tachometer, speedometer/odometer, and aftermarket AM/FM/CD stereo.
Selling for personal reasons.
