DESCRIPTION:
For sale by a private party is an all steel 1947 Chevrolet Style Master business coupe Street Rod. It’s powered by a 307 cu in small block Chevy V8 and backed by a Turbo 350 3-speed automatic transmission and 10-bolt rear differential. The exterior color is a Marina blue metallic painted in a single stage urethane. Over the 8 years of ownership many upgrades and improvements were performed such as new wiring, Dakota Digital gauges, and a Holley Sniper II fuel injection. It is a very reliable and fun cruising classic to drive that draws attention wherever it goes. The exact age and mileage of the initial build is unknown. Selling for personal reasons.
Engine & Transmission:
The 307 V8 is internally stock, but uses an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, Holley Sniper II fuel injection system with electric fuel pump new fuel lines, and O2 sensor, aluminum water pump (long), new battery, Champion radiator with a thermostatically controlled electric fan, new motor mounts, and FlowMaster mufflers with the 2 ½” dual exhaust.
The Turbo 350 transmission is stock and shifts smoothly using a floor mounted Lokar shifter.
Body & Paint:
Single stage urethane Marina Blue Metallic paint shows very well for a street driver. There are some “age related” nicks, and the paint does have some ‘orange peel’. Overall, the body and floors are very solid throughout. The glass is clear with little to no bubbling on the edges and the windows go up and down easily. The trunk has a ‘frenched’ license plate mounting and new headlights with integrated turn signals were added. All exterior light’s function.
Interior:
Traditional style cloth bench seat and door panels are in excellent condition with no tears or stains. The rear “storage” area is finished with carpeting and rear speakers. New Painless wiring was done when the Dakota Digital dash was installed. All the gauges function normally including the clock. An after-market USA-630 AM/FM/Bluetooth stereo was also added in the stock radio location. There is also a USB power port connection. The Chevy has factory heat, but no A/C.
Suspension:
The stock ’47 Chevrolet frame and cross members were painted and are in excellent condition. The front suspension was rebuilt with an added sway bar. Steering is manual. Brakes are power with disc’s front and drums rear. The 10-bolt Chevy differential houses 3.07:1 (open) gears for great highway cruising. New parking brake assembly was also installed. The Chevy rides on 15” Rally Wheels with Firestone 215/70R/15 Radial tires.
A noted issue when driving the car is that it does appear to need new valve guide seals. Otherwise, the Chevy starts and runs great.
