1968 Chevrolet Camaro convertible “Project Car” with its original 327 cu. in. V-8 rated at 217 horsepower and backed by a floor shifted manual 3-speed transmission. The owner has had the car since 1984 but it has been sitting in a garage for over 25 years without any attention. It does not run but the engine is not ‘frozen’. At present the clutch disc is stuck to the flywheel and the car will not come out of gear to roll.
NO TRADES
PLEASE NOTE….ALL BIDS AND OFFERS MADE ON THIS VEHICLE WILL FOLLOW EBAY’S PROTOCOL OF PURCHASING. THIS MEANS THAT ONCE A BID OR OFFER IS MADE OR ACCEPTED THE BUYER AGREES TO PURCHASE THE CAR IN “AS IS” CONDITION.
During the time of ownership, the Camaro had been repainted from its original Cordovan Maroon to the Nassau blue you see in the ad. When it was painted new rear quarter panels were attached and the engine was rebuilt. Current mileage on the Chevrolet is 74,000 miles.
One of the unusual features of this car is the 3-speed shifter on the floor without a console and not having a power top. This was obviously a very basic means of transportation which could be used for fun on the weekends.
The interior is original and in fair condition. It also includes the original seat belts. All the glass is original too and is still ‘seated’ in their tracks.
As far as the condition of the body is concerned, please view all photos carefully and ask questions. It will need floor pans on the driver’s side because of ‘see through’ holes. The trunk floor appears solid.
This convertible appears to be ‘complete’ and has not been scavenged for parts. Some of the original parts which are included are the radio with face plate, extra carburetor, side marker light, flywheel, original stock hub caps and spare, and boot cover.
