Rare and quite original 1969 Oldsmobile Toronado powered by the original 455 cu. in. “Rocket” V-8 boasting 385 horsepower and 510 #/ft of torque! What is unique about this Toronado is that it’s a ‘standard’ not the ‘deluxe’ model and apparently the original owner ordered the car with ‘deluxe’ extras like ‘strato’ bucket seats and a floor shift console.

The Olds is believed to be on its third owner and the original mileage is just over 60,000. The present owner has had the car for 5 years and driven it less than 1500 miles to shows and cruise events.
The 455 engine is stock. Recent maintenance included having the carburetor rebuilt and a basic tune up. It starts easily and runs strong. There is an exhaust leak on the left side where the exhaust manifold connects to the header pipe. The TH425 transmission shifts easily and smoothly. No slippage.
The body of this Toronado appears to be solid and it has had one repaint in the original Titanium Silver at some point during its life. The shine and finish are very good with only a few bubbles and blemishes (see photos). All the body panels and floors look original. Please note, although not videoed, the headlight doors work.
As far as the owner knows the interior is original. Including the vinyl seats, carpeting, dash pad, and headliner. All the gauges, courtesy, and warning lights work. The ‘barrel’ speedometer works too. Even the AM radio with a power antenna function. The odometer works but seems to be slightly tilted. Please note this car did NOT come with air conditioning, only power brakes, power steering, and power driver’s seat.
In the trunk you will find to factory original spare and jack. An extra 15” spare is included.
The suspension is stock with new 15” Toyo Redline White wall tires.
This Oldsmobile Toronado is a great example of a low mileage “front wheel drive” survivor you can just about drive anywhere.
