Here is an opportunity to own a very rare and restored piece of vintage 1960’s drag racing. This is an original fuel injected 1957 Chevrolet Corvette which is believed to have competed at the drag strips in the southeastern USA during the mid-60’s to early 70’s in either the gasser or modified sports classes.
NO TRADES
PLEASE NOTE….ALL BIDS AND OFFERS MADE ON ANY VEHICLE(S) WILL FOLLOW EBAY’S PROTOCOL OF PURCHASING. THIS MEANS THAT ONCE THE BID OR OFFER IS MADE OR ACCEPTED THE BUYER AGREES TO PURCHASE THE CAR IN “AS IS” CONDITION.
The known history of the car started approximately 13 years ago when it was found in a Florida storage facility where it had supposedly stayed, unmolested since about 1985. It was then purchased by a collector in 2016 who did a complete frame-off restoration but retained the original 60’s green and gold metal flake paint! No work was done to the body so it can retain the original “patina” of that era. He also refinished and used some of the original and rare performance parts of that period such as an NHRA approved Ansen bellhousing and an AC Tachometer.
The Corvette uses a rare, modified Bill Thomas Rochester fuel injection unit which was tuned by Larry Webb. The Vette starts easily and runs great without any overheating issues.
Everything in this car has been redone. From the powder coated frame with a vintage Eelco front lift kit to the Al Knoch seats.
This fuel injected Corvette is now driven on the street and has new wiring for lights, turn signals, horns, and a complete exhaust system with electronic cut outs. Please note there is no emergency brake or wipers. The total mileage on the car since restoration is approximately 1,000 miles.
