This Chevy project started with a restored all steel Coupe which was taken apart and rebuilt as a street rod approximately 15 years and about 2800 miles ago.
It is being sold as part of an estate, so the history is limited. It has not been driven regularly for about 18 months, but it has always been garaged since its completion.
The coupe is not perfect (please view the video and all photos), but it starts and runs strong. Please note, there is a slight transmission leak, and the trunk handle needs a new latch. All the hardware is included.
Overall, the ’41 Coupe runs great and draws attention wherever it goes. Just needs a little TLC.
SPECIFICATIONS:
Body & Paint:
All steel 1941 Chevrolet Body appears to be solid throughout with minimum bodywork. The 2-stage Lilac metallic paint looks good from a distance and is accented with ‘ghost’ flames on the front fenders. Rear license plate has been ‘frenched’ and a push release gas door was added. Third taillight was added along with LED taillights. Chrome is in very good condition. Tinted glass looks clear with very little bubbling around the edges. Driver’s side and passenger windows are power.
Engine & Transmission:
350 cu. in. / 330 horsepower ‘crate’ motor with Edelbrock carburetor, Performer intake manifold, one-wire alternator, HEI ignition, shorty headers with FlowMaster mufflers and dual exhaust.
Rebuilt 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission which shifts smoothly and easily. No downshift linkage.
Chassis:
Stock 1940 frame with a complete Mustang II power rack & pinion front end. Wilwood power brakes with disc’s front and drums rear. Ford 8” rear differential with 3.43:1 open gears. Wheels are 15” 5-spoke Weld Wheels with 225/60R/15 front and 235/60R/15 rear radial tires.
Interior:
Light gray cloth bucket seats, headliner, and door panels with a rear “Dog Seat”. No evidence of broken seams or tears. Dolphin gauges function including the speedometer/odometer, fuel, voltmeter, water temperature, and oil pressure. Pioneer AM/FM/CD player with 4-speaker stereo plays well.
Trunk is finished in carpeting with cloth side panels and a trunk mounted battery.
