Power comes from the original 5.5 L fuel-injected V-8 rated at 227 horsepower and backed by its matching 4-speed automatic transmission. It comes with the matching hardtop and an electric lift for the garage to remove or attach the top with ease.
It should be noted that recently the odometer stopped working at the 111,000-mile mark. According to the owner this happened within the last year, and it has only been driven about 1,000 miles above what is showing. The speedometer functions fine.
Paint & Body: According to the Carfax there was minor damage to the front fender in 1999, and the owner had the entire car painted so there are no paint discrepancies. The floor pans are solid, and the Benz shows no evidence of rust or bubbling. All the chrome and rubber look in good condition.
All the factory tools, operators manual, first aid kit, and spare tire are included and original to the 560 SL.
Interior: Current owner had both front seats replaced as well as the soft top several years ago. The carpeting, dashboard, console, and headliner in the hardtop are in excellent condition. According to the owner and Carfax, the A/C system was serviced in 2018, but it currently does not blow cold.
Engine & Transmission: The 5.5 L V-8 still has plenty of “go”, starts easily, and shifts smoothly.
Chassis & Undercarriage: Clean undercarriage for its age, no evidence of leaks and the ride is smooth. Tires are approximately 5 years old and have been driven less than 10,000 miles.
Overall, this is a great 560 SL driver that only needs a little “TLC”.
