This Galaxie was restored in 2018 by a shop in southern California before being shipped to AZ. Receipts for all the work performed are included.
Three years ago, the current owner (who lives in the East) purchased it and has only put 500 to 1000 miles on the Ford.
BODY & PAINT:
According to the receipts this car was taken apart and painted in the original Red using a single stage urethane. All the body panels, floors, and fenders are original to the car. Exterior glass is in very good condition windows go up and down easily. Exterior chrome and trim are also in good condition.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION:
From the date code on the engine, it appears to be the original block. The 428 FE was rebuilt, bored .030” over, runs 10:1 forged pistons, Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads and intake, Quik Fuel 700 cfm carburetor, Comp Cams hydraulic Magnum flat tappet cam (.519 lift and 224 duration at .050), coated headers, and Mallory ignition.
Transmission is the stock C6, rebuilt.
CHASSIS & DIFFERENTIAL:
New front and rear suspension parts including shocks and bushings. New brakes system from power booster to wheel cylinders. Stock rear 9.375” Ford differential with 3.25:1 open gears. Wheels are Polished American Torque Thrusts measuring 17” front and 18” rear with Continental tires 225/45R/17 front and 235/55R/18 rear.
INTERIOR:
Seats, carpets, and headliner were redone at some point. No visible tears, rips, or broken seams. Door panels, console, and dashboard appear original (dash pad is cracked). Speedometer works but odometer has not worked since the restoration. Mileage is an estimate. Fuel gauge recently stopped working, radio and clock do not function. A/C controls work and it does blow cold.
SUMMARY:
This is a great rust-free California car which has had an older restoration. The paint and exterior are in fair to good condition. It runs strong, starts easily and is a blast to drive. New owner shouldn’t be disappointed with a rare and collectable 1960’s “Gentlemen’s” performance car.
