No your eyes are not deceiving you — this is a 1956 Cadillac Series 62 ‘Saloon’ (4-door sedan) CONVERTIBLE. Yes, convertible. There is no convertible top for the car, it is strictly a ‘sunny’ day driver.

History is sketchy at best the current owner has had the car for 6 years and bought it off a local real estate agent who knew nothing about the car except it looked cool and ran great.
With the Caddie top gone the structural integrity of the car would be, of course, compromised, so the builder welded and bolted in metal brackets behind the front seat on each side, so the car would be a sound driver (see photos).
The car is stock from its 365 cu. in. Cadillac V-8 to the 4-speed automatic transmission. With regards to service records….there are none. If you watch the video you will hear an exhaust manifold leak which needs attention.
The paint is a type of burgundy with ‘flake’ sprayed on top. The flames are painted on and pinstriped.
Interior is what you see. The original leather is worn, and the stuffing needs to be replaced. The odometer, speedometer, and temperature gauge do work, but the gas gauge does not.
All the lights, including turn signals work. Caddie came with A/C and the owner does have the original compressor.
As far as a solid frame and body….please view all pictures carefully.
Up until a month ago the car was driven on the street, but brake issues developed and have not been addressed. The owner was told it needs an entire system from power master cylinder to brake shoes.
To say it gets attention where ever it goes would be an understatement, but it is what it is.

I have been an active eBay seller of cars and other items for since 2002 and maintained a close to a 100% rating during most of that period. Around 2011 I started an online service assisting owners of Classic, Vintage, and Muscle cars to sell their vehicles without them leaving the garage. These are private individual owners who do not want to deal with the public and all of the endless phone calls, “Tire kickers”, and other nonsense that goes on when trying to sell a car.
