Here is your chance to own a true piece of Ford Muscle Car history. A professionally built 427 SOHC “Cammer” motor stuffed in a 1965 Mercury Comet for the street!!

This car was built by a well-known SOHC expert in California, Butch Engelbrecht (of B&E Motorsports) in 1998. Several years after the build, his customer sold the car to Wayne Jeffer in Florida, who had it in a museum for display purposes and then sold it in 2012 to the current owner.

In 2017 the current owner decided to go through the entire car and have everything checked and the engine rebuilt. Why? You may ask. Because his is a stickler on detail and likes to keep his cars in near perfect condition. This Mercury Comet is as close to being perfect as you can see in the photos and video.

The 427 SOHC is actually bored and stroked to 456 cu.in. by use of a 428 crankshaft. Stock horsepower was 657. The engine has never been dyno’d. The block and heads are date coded to 1966, not a reproduction 427 SOHC side oiler. The engine has less than 50 miles on it since being completed and many of the internal parts are new. The specifications are listed below.

The owner has the receipts for the original engine build; the most recent rebuild; and any & all work performed since he has owned the car.
