Sold & transported from Middletown, MD to Hagerstown, MD. Originally posted for sale on February 15, 2024. 1966 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova SS powered by a period correct 327 cu. in. Chevy V-8 small block, backed by a Muncie M-21 close ratio 4-speed and 10-bolt rear differential. New Mustang II rack & pinion steering with QA1 coil over shocks. This is NOT a numbers matching car and the trim tag from the firewall is missing.
- This Nova has been in the same family for almost 50 years and began as a “nut & bolt” restoration which included media blasting the body and applying the two-stage silver urethane paint. Although the build was completed about 5 years ago the Checkered Racing rack & pinion front end and brake system were added within the past year.
- This Chevrolet Nova has a clear Maryland title, but it cannot be verified that the car was originally an SS since the VIN plate was removed when the car was painted, and rivets were not used to put it back in place. The owner/builder is deceased, and it is being sold by the estate.
- The overall condition of the all-steel body is very good and shows no rusting or bubbling anywhere. An aftermarket steel 2” cowl hood was added. Very sold floors in the trunk and passenger areas. The silver paint is not perfect, and some sanding marks are prevalent as well as some ‘high & low’ spots. Please view all the photos and video carefully.
- The SS starts easily and runs strong. It was used for cruise-ins and car shows in the area and has less than 1000 miles on the complete build. All the exterior lights, including brake and turn signal function normally.
- A donor ’66 Chevy Nova was used, and additional parts go with the sale see pictures. Some of the items are a set of doors, grille, rear trim, steering column, and (2) 14” American racing mags.
