1963 Ford Thunderbird 2-door hardtop in its original color of Beige Rose Metallic with matching interior. Factory options include power steering (with the ‘swing-a-way’ steering wheel) power steering & brakes, and A/C which has been converted to R-134 and does blow cold air.

Power comes from the matching numbers 390 FE V-8 rated at 300 horsepower and it still uses the original Autolite 4-barrel carburetor. It is backed by Ford’s legendary Cruise-O-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission and an 8” rear differential with 3.00:1 open gears.
It is not known if the engine was rebuilt at some point but it starts easily and runs smoothly. There is no smoke when it’s cold or warm and it doesn’t burn oil. The transmission has been serviced and it shifts easily.
The original interior does show some ‘patina’ in certain areas. On the passenger seat there is a broken seam under the tape and the driver’s seat has a couple of broken seams. Dash pad is in excellent condition. The power seat still operates smoothly both back and forth and up and down. The speakers in the back are for use with a smart phone and can easily be disconnected.
Recent work includes getting the A/C to work, completely new power brake system using stainless steel lines.
The present owner purchased the car from a dealer in the Northeast 10 years ago who brought it west from California where it spent most of its life. Paperwork dates to the 1980’s with records of the car being serviced out west.
The body appears to be rust free and it has had one repaint which looks very good. No bodywork appears evident, the chrome is in good to excellent condition and the power windows operate easily.
Electrically, everything appears to work from the interior gauges and radio to the brake lights and wipers.
The T-Bird has been garage kept since ownership and occasionally driven to local shows and AACA events.
