Gorgeous 1965 Corvette Resto Mod convertible powered by a 6.2-liter 475 h.p. LS3 engine and backed by a Tremec TKO 600 5-speed manual transmission. Every ‘nut, bolt, and screw’ is new on the car.

The two-year frame-off build was completed in 2011 and 7,300 miles ago, and it looks just as good now as it did then. Always kept in a climate-controlled garage and never driven in poor weather.
It all started with a new C2 frame which was modified to accommodate an entirely new aluminum C4 Corvette front and rear suspension. Once the new mounting hardware was welded in place, the frame was powder coated for chip resistance.
Added options include A/C & heat, 4-wheel power disc brakes with stainless steel brake lines and drilled rotors, power steering, and a Haartz cloth convertible top with a glass rear window.
The 1965 body uses a front-end clip from 1966 to add some flare and style. Other subtleties include deleting exterior emblems and trim, having the rear inner fender wells opened to accommodate the larger tires and wheels, and LED taillights. The paint is a 2-stage urethane black with hand-painted pinstriping. There are no cracks or bubbles apparent anywhere. Only one small chip (see photo).
A hardtop is included, but not pictured, which was refinished using a black vinyl top material for the exterior.
The new LS3 engine was a crate motor from GM and uses a ‘Be Cool’ aluminum radiator system with a thermostatically controlled electric fan to keep the engine temperature in check. Factory-style side pipes were used for the exhaust, and it makes the car sound fantastic!
The interior was kept simple with leather seats, new carpeting and door panels, a dash pad, and refurbished stock gauges. The A/C and heat are operated using the original style C2 Corvette controls.
The Corvette rides on 17” polished aluminum Budnick wheels with Nitto 555 ZR-rated unidirectional tires, 245 x 45 x 17 front and 275 x 40 x 17 rear.
This ’65 Resto Mod starts and runs as well as it looks. There are no disappointments.

I have been an active eBay seller of cars and other items for more than 20 years and maintained a 100% rating during most of that period. Approximately 12 years ago, I started an online service assisting owners of Classic, Vintage, and Muscle cars to sell their vehicles on the internet without them leaving the garage.
