Beautiful mid-60’s style 1955 Chevrolet 150 ‘businessmans’ coupe finished in an eye-catching red 2-stage urethane. Just as an FYI; a businessmans’ coupe only came with a front seat and a wooden board in place of the back seat which was used for suitcases. Also, the rear quarter windows were sealed in place with no mechanisms for them to go up and down. The owner added the back seat. The estimated mileage since the car was finished is 1500. Total actual mileage is 99,000.

Body is rust-free and was taken off the frame and painted approximately five years ago. The metal which was replaced included the floors both rear quarter panels and the two front fenders. Everything else was solid. Additionally, the body has been ‘nosed & decked’. The Chevy has new body mount bushings and a nicely painted undercarriage. Chrome is in excellent condition including the 1955 Chevy station wagon rear bumper and Lee Plastics tail lights. All the glass is tinted and in good condition except for a small area of de lamination on the passenger side front windshield near the corner.
Power comes from a 406 c.i. small block Chevrolet which was built to run on pump gas. Modifications include a hydraulic cam by Comp Cams, Rhoads lifters, 2.02 valve ‘Camel Hump’ cylinder heads, vintage Winters Foundry Chevrolet aluminum intake, and 650 Holley carburetor. Backing the small block Chevy is a 1967 Muncie M-20 wide-ratio 4-speed which uses Hurst linkage and an early 60’s style Chevrolet shifter.
Recent NEW items include Flow Master 40 mufflers and exhaust, alternator, battery, radiator & shroud, coil, plugs, and wires.
The suspension has had all new bushings and tie rod ends added. Two-inch dropped front spindles, disc brakes front and drums rear (non-power), new dual bail master cylinder and brake lines, new gas tank and lines, rebuilt 10-bolt Chevrolet differential w/ 3.50:1 gears & a Posi unit, and welded brackets for ‘Traction Master’ style traction bars. 15” Chrome reverse wheels with spider caps and NEW radial tires (215 x 75 front & 225 x 75 rear).
The interior was kept to a Sixties flavor too using GM bucket seats which were roll & pleated, color matching door panels,’59 Impala steering wheel (no power steering), radio delete plate, new heater core, carpeting, Column mounted Stewart Warner tach with matching oil pressure and water temp gauges.
Included with the car are poverty hubcaps, touch-up paint, car cover, and original tail light lenses.
The ’55 is a blast to drive and draws attention at every show.
A few imperfections include tiny holes in the headliner on the driver’s side and small chips on the passenger fender (see photos).

I have been an active eBay seller of cars and other items for since 2002 and maintained a close to a 100% rating during most of that period. Around 2011 I started an online service assisting owners of Classic, Vintage, and Muscle cars to sell their vehicles without them leaving the garage. These are private individual owners who do not want to deal with the public and all of the endless phone calls, “Tire kickers”, and other nonsense that goes on when trying to sell a car. They just want someone to sell it!!
