1996 Chevrolet Camaro Z28/SS convertible 6-speed with the optional SLP (Street Legal Performance) package.
According to the original bill of sale this Camaro was purchased in Milford, Mass. at Imperial Chevrolet on June 18th, 1996. This is a rare convertible since this was the first year for the SS to return to the Chevrolet lineup in 24 years. Additionally, there were approximately 2,263 (production numbers do vary by publication) SS Camaro Z28’s produced for 1996. Of those produced only 264 were convertibles and only 56 were triple black with a manual transmission.

Power for this Z28/SS comes from the original LT1, tuned port fuel injected, 305 c.i. V-8 rated at 305 h.p. due to the SLP performance exhaust (some publications rate the h.p. at 315).
The special options this Z28/SS includes the following:
Hurst shifter; Z/28/SS air cleaner; single ‘snorkel’ hood (made in Canada) Performance exhaust (2 pipes on the left); 16” SS wheels (because the convertibles could not be ordered with the optional Bilstein package which included 17” wheels); Torsen Torque-Sensing Limited-slip differential w/ AAM aluminum rear axle cover and 3.73:1 gears; Parade bonnet w/vinyl case; Special Z/28 SS front floor mats; Performance Synthetic Lubricants package. Although a special car cover was included, this car does not have it.
This Z28/SS wears its original black paint (see photos for scratches and cracking), interior, and top (the rear window was replaced). Total miles are 123,000. The current owner is believed to be the third and has only driven the car approximately 6000 miles since he purchased it in 2011. Garage kept and not driven in poor weather for the past 10 years. Carfax is clean and shows no accidents reported. Everything appears to be original to the car except for the owner replacing the gas tank and fuel lines.
All the options, lights, turn signals, and gauges work including the A/C and AM/FM/CD player. Top operates smoothly as evident in the video.
Owner notes no apparent leaks or overheating issues. The car shifts smoothly, sounds, and runs great.

Around 2011 I started an online service assisting owners of Classic, Vintage, and Muscle cars to sell their vehicles without them leaving the garage.
