1953 Pontiac Chieftain two door sedan in the original Spruce Green Iridescent and Linden Green top. Car was purchased from an estate more than 10 years ago and gradually the owner has been repairing and replacing parts to restore the ‘Tin Indian’ to its original condition.

Currently runs the original 268 c.i. / 118 h.p. in-line flathead 8-cylinder engine backed by the original and optional Hydro-matic (automatic) transmission. There have been several new parts added and the car starts and runs well (see list below). It is apparent the rings need to be replaced because of the evidence of blue smoke at acceleration.
The Pontiac was repainted in the original colors (unknown when) and is in good condition. There are some scratches and stone chips but overall, it looks great. There is some slight bubbling at the bottom of the windshield, but no other area shows any rust. The floors, trunk, fenders, and quarter panels appear sold. The passenger door looks to have a little work done just above the stainless trim.
The upholstery and carpeting are believed to be original. There is even a ‘cigarette burn’ on the front seat. The factory gauges function including the speedometer, odometer, temperature gauge, battery, and oil pressure. The clock does run but does not keep accurate time and the radio did work when the car was purchased, but now just hums.
Exterior chrome, stainless, and glass appear to be original and the Indian hood ornament does light up when the lights are on.

I have been an active eBay seller of cars and other items for since 2002 and maintained a close to a 100% rating during most of that period. Around 2011 I started an online service assisting owners of Classic, Vintage, and Muscle cars to sell their vehicles without them leaving the garage.
