1984 Mercedes-Benz 380 SL, which has been so well maintained it’s like new.
Present owner has always been one who believes in ‘preventative’ maintenance, so just about every nut, bolt, and screw has been touched over the past 20 years of ownership.
Documentation and maintenance records go back to when the original owner purchased the car and include the window sticker, first aid kit, and all the manuals.

From 2002 – 2003, at approximately 187,000 miles, the SL had the 3.8 L V-8 engine rebuilt, the 4-Speed automatic transmission serviced, a new top, the body was stripped and repainted to the original color, new starter, struts, brake lines, master cylinder, brake pads, radio & speakers, and power antenna. Since this work was performed, only 8000 miles have been logged on the odometer. The tires and battery are about 5 years old. And recently, the rear differential was serviced with new half-shaft boots and fluid.
There appears to be no rust or bubbling showing anywhere.
The interior is original except for a new dash pad which was replaced when the car was painted. All of the factory Mercedes-Benz gauges function normally. No seat belt wear shows on the upper corner of either seat. Power windows go up and down easily.
Included with the ‘Benz is the original spare tire, hard top cart for storage, and an indoor car cover.
Please note that when all of the work was performed, the owner did not recharge the A/C system, so it does not work and has never been upgraded to R134. Also, the 380 SL does NOT have a catalytic converter.

I have been an active eBay seller of cars and other items for more than 20 years and maintained a 100% rating during most of that period. Approximately 12 years ago, I started an online service assisting owners of Classic, Vintage, and Muscle cars to sell their vehicles on the internet without them leaving the garage.
