Unfortunately, the history and details of the build are not known because the present owner bought it from an estate sale in the area and no documentation came with the truck. He has had it just over a year and has maybe put 100 miles of the 464 miles showing on the odometer. It runs cool and is built for the street, nothing radical. It currently only puts out a maximum of 5 lbs of boost. The nitrous oxide has never been connected to a bottle and tested, but the connections and extra fuel pump are there. All the fuel and nitrous lines are braided stainless steel with A/N fittings.
From what the owner knows, the engine was professionally built with forged internal parts and 8.5:1 compression ratio pistons. The Blower is a Weiand 6:71 with dual Edelbrock carbs, along with an MSD ignition, and custom radiator. Auto Meter nitrous, fuel pressure, and boost gauges are mounted alongside the scoop.
There is a transmission cooler located under the bed with an electric fan. Fuse box and battery are in separate custom-made aluminum boxes in the truck bed.
The custom frame appears professionally built with a modified stock steering and heavy-duty cross members up front and a square tubing rear frame using leaf springs with Lakewood style traction bars in the rear. The brakes are non-power discs up front and drums in the rear. The Mickey Thompson Sportsman tires are 26/7.50/15 front and 31/18 rear, both mounted on American Racing wheels.
The body is all metal and appears to use a ‘Step Side’ back-half with a stock Datsun front end. There is no rust or bubbling anywhere. It looks great.
The interior uses a stock Datsun bench seat, door panels, and carpeting but the dashboard has been customized to house the added Auto Meter gauges including Speedometer/odometer, tachometer, water temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltmeter. A custom center console houses the nitrous and fuel pump switches along with Auto Meter oil temperature, clock, and transmission temperature gauges. The shifting chores are handled by a Hurst V-Matic rachet shifter with a nitrous button.
The best estimate for the age of the build is about 10-12 years. As you can see there is some surface rust on areas of the frame, but nothing appears to affect the integrity or strength of the chassis.
Selling for personal reasons.
