This Trans Am has no bodywork or “mud” in it anywhere. The body was prepped and block sanded so the 2-stage urethane Stellar Blue paint accentuates the straight body lines. All areas of the car were repainted including the door jams, under the hood, and the trunk area. New bushings were added so the doors open and close like new. No sagging.
The engine is a 1972 400 block which has a higher nickel content and is more suitable for machining. It has been professionally decked, align-honed, and Magni fluxed. The SD 455 crank, pistons and rods are all forged and balanced with 9:1 compression ratio. The heads are the original 400 Pontiac items which have been ported and run stainless steel valves. The slightly more aggressive cam is a hydraulic flat tappet with roller rocker arms. The intake manifold is from 1972 Pontiac 400 and allows the original Quadrajet 4-barrel to perform better. The original A/C unit works and blows cold air with R12 refrigerant. The exhaust system is by PYPES and sounds great.
The Super T10 transmission was inspected and had bronze bushings added. A 12” clutch pack was used instead of the stock 11”.
The interior is all original except for the front and rear seats and carpeting. This Trans Am came from the factory with white seats as shown on the original window sticker, but the owner changed to black. The original seats are NOT included. The factory gauges, A/C controls, and AM/FM radio all function. The door panels, dash pad, and headliner are original and in perfect condition. The spare in the trunk is the original tire from 1975.
The stock suspension has new power brakes and hardware, bushings, sway bar links, shocks, and ball joints. The fuel tank and lines are original and in perfect condition. Tires are B.F. Goodrich 255/60R/15 mounted on the original 5-spoke wheels and trim rings.
If you want an eye-catching, fast, and fun to drive mid-70’s Trans Am with the performance of over 400 horsepower, this Pontiac is for you.
