1973 Volkswagen “Super Beetle” convertible repainted in its original Saturn Yellow with a black interior and top. Power comes from the original 1600 cc, 60 hp ‘flat-motored’, air cooled, carbureted, 4-cylinder, and it’s backed by the original 4-speed manual transmission.
NO TRADES
- It is being sold off as part of an estate and unfortunately there are no documents showing the history of the car.
- The total mileage showing, of just over 80,000, is believed original. The “Bug” also has a new top. It is not known if the engine was ever rebuilt, but it does start, shift, stop, easily run at 55 mph, and perform like a 1973 VW.
- All the external lights turn signals appear to function. Interior dash lights and gauges work including the radio.
- The interior seats, dash, door panels, and headliner are in good condition and believed original too.
- The body and paint do show some age with rust on the bumpers, window edging, and door handles. There is bodywork in the car, but it is not known how much. Under the front bonnet all of the cardboard panels appear original and there does not appear to be any rust. Inner fender wells are in the original paint.
- Floors appear to be original. Please carefully review the video and photos and ask questions.
- The suspension and undercarriage show some age and rust. Again, it is not known if new shocks, bushings, etc. were recently replaced or not. The 165/80R/15 tires are approximately 6 years old.
