It is on the second owner who purchased the car while in high school during 1982. Current odometer reading is 126,000 miles.
Owner had the car painted about 15 years ago and changed the color from the original bronze to a ‘Ford’ red. At the same time, he added “The Judge” decals and deck wing. When the car was painted patch panels were welded in place on both lower rear quarter panels and on the lower front fenders behind each wheel well. Since the work was done the GTO has always been kept in the garage and driven on nice days. The metallic red shows well and the entire car was painted.
The top (which has a glass rear window) works fine and was replaced about 10 years ago along with the motor. There is no ‘boot’ for the top.
The engine and transmission were rebuilt about 15 years ago to stock specifications and has only been driven approximately 10,000 miles. The suspension including brake system, shocks, and bushings were done just about the same time.
All the windows, including the windshield are original. The right rear quarter window seems to have fallen out of the track and needs help going up.
Electrically, everything works such as turn signals, headlights, brake lights, interior courtesy lights. The GTO did come with factory A/C, but the compressor and other hardware were discarded.
The interior is original and was never restored. A Kenwood AM/FM/CD player was added along with 4 speakers. The original radio is not included.
The original 5-spoke wheels are included with the GTO along with the original jack.
It appears to run strong, start easily, and ride smoothly. There seems to be no apparent rattles anywhere.
Owner is selling for personal reasons.
