The build was completed 7 years ago using NCRS guidelines and fitted with either new or NOS Corvette parts. Recent upgrades include: new Firestone Wide Oval FR60-15 tires and QA1 coil over shocks. Since the restoration only 2,500 miles have been logged on the car.
BODY & PAINT:
The 2-stage PPG urethane paint looks fantastic and has additional ‘radiance’ added to make the metallic stand out. The body retains all the original bonding strips. The car also came with ‘T’ tops and a removeable rear window. The paint looks good and shows some age (see photos) but is still show worthy.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION:
The 496 cu. in. big block (bored and stroked 454) is designated as a “512” replacement block dated December 1, 1969. The #290 cylinder heads were port matched to the intake. The stroker kit includes a SCAT crank with 9.7:1 compression ratio forged pistons, Comp Cams hydraulic roller cam (gross lift of .510 and split duration of .282 & .288), ceramic coated Hedman Headers, N11 off road exhaust system, original intake manifold, alternator, starter, and belt system, and a Sean Murphy prepared 750 cfm Rochester carburetor.
The transmission and clutch pack were rebuilt using mostly NOS parts. It still retains the stock shifter. The vacuum system was also rebuilt and the headlights and hidden wiper door appear to work perfectly.
The entire suspension was rebuilt with new springs, bushings, rear QA1 shocks, rebuilt differential with a performance center section, and new power 4-wheel disc brake system.
INTERIOR:
The interior uses new Al Knoch seats, carpets, and door panels in the original and matching black vinyl. All the gauges were refurbished and calibrated as well as a new radio by Antique Automobile Radio. All options work including PW/PS/PB/Tilt & Telescopic steering column.
If you are looking for an all-around show winning, attention getting C3 Chevrolet Corvette, this one will not disappoint you.
Owner selling for personal reasons. Receipts, manuals, and documentation of the build are included.
