According to the owner the engine was rebuilt approximately 3,500 miles ago and additional work was done on the suspension, brakes, and fuel system.
There is no fender tag showing the options, but it does look like this Road Runner came with factory A/C. There are no parts to that system.
Looking over the engine compartment the 383 cu in / 335 horsepower V8 engine does appear to be original to the car (casting numbers 2468130), but an aftermarket Holley carburetor (650 cfm), Weiand intake manifold, and electronic ignition have been added. Also, a new exhaust system was installed with FlowMaster mufflers. The fuel system appears to have been redone including the gas tank and lines.
The suspension has had some upgrades such as polyurethane bushings new brake system with disc brakes up front, new shocks, torsion bars, and rear springs. The ‘Magnum 500’ 15” wheels have Cooper Cobra radial tires measuring 225/70R/15 front and 275/60R/15 on the rear.
The red exterior paint is not original to the car, but it does appear to be a 2-stage urethane and in excellent condition. The floors in both the passenger area and trunk look original and in good condition. There may be some bodywork in each door and rear quarter panel (see photos). There does not appear to be any rust coming through. The vinyl top looks good and shows no bubbles, but it is not known if this was original to the car. Also, a piece of the trim has come out of the clips (see photos).
All the glass and exterior chrome look good and may have been replated. The vent window trim shows a small amount of pitting.
The dashboard looks like it was refinished and the factory gauges as well as the aftermarket oil pressure and water temperature function. Even the original tachometer. The seats look original and do show some age. The seat belts are aftermarket.
Overall, this Road Runner starts and runs strong. It has won a number of awards at shows in the mid-Atlantic region and draws attention wherever it goes.
