Up for sale by a private party is a no expense spared, highly detailed, and exact replica of a 1969 Plymouth Road Runner A12 440 “6-barrel” painted Vitamin C Orange in a 2-stage urethane with a black vinyl top. The owner painstakingly went to extremes to make this Plymouth as exact as one which rolled off the assembly line in 1969. In many ways it is above all expectations. This is a 10 out of 10 show car!!!

The donor vehicle for this build was a rust-free California 383 cu in Road Runner which required no replacement panels or rust repair. The professional build was done by Jerry’s Rod & Custom shop in Maryland who specializes in restoring Mopar muscle cars. As you can see in the photos, every nut, bolt, and screw were removed and replaced with exact Mopar parts. Even the glass in the car is date coded and marked as Mopar.
The removable fiberglass hood is an exact replica as the factory item and not a flimsy reproduction.
The engine was also professionally rebuilt using a hydraulic roller cam with roller rockers, rebuilt, date coded and re-stamped carburetors, 906 cylinder heads, 6-pack rods, 10:1 forged pistons, and period correct exhaust manifolds. The engine was dyno’d at 478 horsepower and 535 #/ft of torque at 5500 rpm (sheets included).
The distributor is a Mopar dual-point unit part # 2875982.
The Torque Flight 3-speed automatic transmission was rebuilt with a shift kit and is period correct.
The Dana 60 rear differential is a complete unit from Moser and houses 4.10:1 posi-traction gears as the A12’s did new.
(5) ‘H’ code wheels were used including for the spare tire. The 6-Barrel rides on ‘Redline’ polyglass Goodyear 15” 60 x 15 tires.
The interior is all new from headliner, sunvisors, to carpeting. The upholstery was refurbished and matches the Road Runner pattern. The dashboard is new with all working gauges including the factory tachometer and AM radio (it has an amplifier and iPod connection). The seat belts are period correct too.
This A12 tribute has no visible imperfections in the paint, body, engine, or undercarriage. It is like buying a new 440 6-Barrel with only 700 miles on the odometer. No disappointments.
