The Camaro was certified to 8.50 e.t. (expired 6/24) and raced in the Super Gas class running on alcohol for a number of years.  Its fastest time was 8.53 e.t. @153 mph. Then approximately three years and 500 miles ago the engine was rebuilt and now runs on gasoline. The compression ratio is still 13:1 so racing fuel must be used.

The engine is a 540 cu. in. Chevy Big Block running an MSD ignition, Merlin Aluminum cylinder heads, Edelbrock high riser intake manifold with a Holley 1150 cfm Dominator carburetor. The cylinder heads are running Jesel rocker arms and the cam is a solid roller. A Jesel belt drive is also used for the timing chain. A Moroso electric water pump keeps the antifreeze flowing through the custom aluminum radiator. The competition headers are JetHot coated and look great. Other electrics include a delay box and trans brake.

The ATI blowproof Power Glide transmission uses a 5500 stall converter and it is shifted by an air shifter.

The chassis is chrome moly and set up by Frank Warren. The front end uses Strange struts and in the rear is a narrowed 9” Ford with 36 spline Moser axles and a spool. Rear tires are 32/16.5/15 Goodyear slicks. A 4-link with a Watts linkage handles the traction.

The interior is strictly business with two light weight seats, tachometer, water temperature, oil pressure, and voltmeter. The button on the shifter is for the line-lock. The stock speedometer and fuel gauges do not work.

The Camaro body uses a lift off fiberglass front end, and doors. All of the glass is plexi-glass. In the trunk is a fuel cell and dual batteries.

The Penn Trailer is a 1996 model and still in very good condition. It includes a wench, tie downs, and cabinets. The tires look to be about 3 years old. There are interior and exterior lights besides the running lights.
