The sale includes all the documentation and receipts for the build as well as the original build sheet (see photo) and the Galen V. Govier report. This was the first year of Plymouth’s GTX model and this is one of the finest examples you will find anywhere.
Body & Paint: All of the body panels and floors on this car are original. The undercarriage still shows the factory undercoating. There is no rust or bubbling evident and the only necessary bodywork was in front of each rear wheel well that had new metal sections welded in place. The exterior of the car was painted in a 2-stage urethane metallic gold with a ‘hint’ of pearl essence. All door jams, the trunk area, and engine compartments are the original paint.
All the stainless-steel trim as well as most of the chrome was either replated or replaced. The windows are all original except the windshield and go up and down easily. Weather stripping was replaced where needed.
Engine & Transmission: Complete rebuild (with receipts) for engine and transmission. Still running 10:1 compression ratio pistons and hydraulic cam (uses pump gas). New dual exhaust uses Dynomax mufflers with factory tailpipes and chrome tips. The only changes made are an Edelbrock Carburetor and electronic ignition. The original items are included.
Interior: The only repairs needed on the interior were to rebuild and reupholster the two front seats and a new headliner. The carpeting, rear seat, door panels, arm rests, inside window cranks & door handles, and dashboard are original. All the factory gauge’s function including the factory AM/FM radio which was added by the owner as well as the aftermarket oil pressure gauge. Only the clock does not.
Suspension & Rear differential: All new front and rear suspension parts including 11” drum brake system (non-power), new bushings, shocks, and springs. Rear differential was rebuilt using 3.91:1 posi-traction gears. The original 3.23:1 is included. The 14” Magnum 500 wheels have 215/75R/14 Redline radial tires. The original wheel covers are included.
