The present owner purchased the car from a local dealer, so the history is limited. It apparently came from Ohio when it wore its original Aspen green paint and the dealer repainted the entire car in a period correct Spanish red enamel. The white convertible top appears to have been replaced and functions easily.
The black vinyl interior may have been redone at some point and is the original color to the car. All the upholstery looks to be in good condition with no tears or broken seams. The 88 also came with factory A/C, power antenna, clock, and AM radio. None of which work. Dashboard lights work but warning lights do not.
Some of the other recent work performed on the 88 includes a tune up with new points, condenser, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, fuel pump, shocks front and rear brakes with some new brake lines.
There appears to be bodywork in both lower rear quarter panels, rocker panels, along the edge of the trunk lid, and at the bottom of each door. The paint shows well and there appears to be no bubbling or cracking anywhere.
The chrome and glass appear original and in fair condition. The headlights and brake light’s function, but there are no turn signals or flashers.
If you are looking for a great 1960’s convertible cruiser which needs a little TLC this ’67 Delta 88 convertible will fit the bill. It starts easily, drives smoothly, and “floats” along the roadway.
