  • Factory options include power brakes, power steering, A/C (which blows cold air), and tilt wheel. The AM/FM radio is an upgraded unit.
  • The apparent history shows that the car spent almost its entire life between CA and FL. In 2000 the 3rd owner took the car apart, stripped and sandblasted it, had it reupholstered with new carpeting, new windshield, repaired a small area in the floor pan welded in metal, repainted it the original Capri Cream, and went through the entire drive line including the engine and transmission. This is also possibly the time when the ‘SS’ hood was added.
  • Additional work performed included, the front ‘clip’ being removed and sand blasted before being painted gloss black, new front-end pieces; ball joints, control arms, shocks, power master cylinder, heater core, 1 1/8” front and 7/8” rear sway bars, ‘boxed’ rear control arms, exhaust system, and all the ‘body gaps’ were aligned. Only 35,000 miles have been logged on the car since this work was performed.
  • During the past year the current owner has changed to a larger Quadrajet carburetor (’67 Corvette, original Q-jet included), added new B.F. Goodrich tires (235/60R/15 front and 275/60R/15 rear), new thermostat, and tune up. The El Camino runs great.
  • Please note that this car is a “driver” and not a “show queen” The 24-year-old paint job looks great, but there are some areas showing age (see photos). Additionally, there is a broken seam on the driver’s side of the bench seat (see photo).
  • Besides the documentation additional parts are included like the original Q-jet carb, new dash pad, rear window rubber, touch up paint, fan belts, and cover for under the steering column.
  • If you are looking for reliable and sharp looking street machine which still turns heads when you are out cruising or just going to the grocery store. This El Camino fits the bill.
  • Selling for personal reasons.
