- A frame-off restoration was performed approximately 22 years and 23,000 miles ago by the prior owner. A photo album of the build is included. The present owner has had it 7 years and due to personal reasons has decided to sell it. The car has always been garaged kept since the restoration and never driven in poor weather.
- According to the PHS (Pontiac Historical Society) documentation, which is included, this car originally came with a 389, 4-barrel engine (WT). But somewhere during its life a 389, ‘Tri-Power’ motor was added (WS).
- Other factory options include tilt steering wheel, tinted glass, power steering, AM/FM radio, and 3.55:1 open gears.
- All of the gauges and dash light’s function including the radio.
- There were other changes made when the GTO was restored too and include the exterior color being changed from Charcoal Blue to Barrier blue; a blue interior (instead of black) as well as power brakes with discs up front and drums in the rear, and the Magnaflow mufflers.
- The 389 / 360 hp V-8 was totally rebuilt during the restoration, but the current owner converted it over to a Holley Sniper fuel injection system with all new fuel lines, gas tank, and electric fuel pump. The complete original ‘Tri-Power’ set up is included in the sale.
- The Charcoal Blue paint is a two-stage urethane and shows no evidence of bubbling or rust coming through. From the photos it appears most of the original body panels and floors were used. The exterior chrome looks fantastic, and the top operates with ease.
- Other work performed by the present owner includes new carpeting, new white top, dash pad, and a rebuild of the M-20 4-speed.
- Receipts for the restoration and what has been recently done are included in the sale.
- This GTO is a multiple show winner and draws a crowd wherever it goes.
- Owner selling for personal reasons.
