1966 Ford Mustang Coupe Street Machine painted in a Ford Extreme Dark Blue with White ‘Shelby’ style stripes. It’s powered by a EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) 5.0L Ford V8 backed by a Ford AOD overdrive transmission and 8” Ford rear. Owner purchased the car from his uncle over 40 years ago and the completed project was finished approximately 15 years and 2,000 miles ago. Recently he started adding a Dakota Digital gauge cluster (not quite finished) which will need to be completed by the new owner.

BODY & PAINT: Two-stage urethane Ford blue with white stripes under the clear coat. Body modifications include 3” fiberglass cowl hood (needs support rod to stay open), GT rear exhaust exit valance, & ‘R’ style front valence. Paint looks good, but shows some age. Owner replaced both side mirrors and holes were not repaired. According to the owner the only areas which had replacement panels welded in are a floor section on the passenger side and the lower front corner of the driver’s door. Please view photos carefully.

Electically only the fuel, temperature, oil pressure, and voltmeter work. Exterior lights work with LED taillights. Front GT fog lights are wired buy not connected.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION: stock Ford 5.0L Windsor V-8 with Edelbrock aluminum heads and GT40 intake manifold. Ford electronic ignition, shorty headers, heavy duty aluminum radiator, transmission cooler, March serpentine pulley system, dual exhaust exiting through rear valence using GT mufflers.

Rebuilt stock Ford AOD transmission with stock ’66 Mustang floor shifter.

SUSPENSION: Complete ‘Fatman Stub’ front end with coil over shocks, tubular ‘A’ arms, adjustable castor and camber (which needs to be adjusted) power rack & pinion steering. Power brakes (disc front & drums rear) Rear torque boxes were reinforced, 8” Ford differential uses 3.08 open gears and 1” lowering blocks. Chrome spoked 17” US Mags with Raptor 215/50ZR/17 radial tires on all four corners.

INTERIOR & TRUNK: TMI custom interior with shift console, tilt steering column, Ford A/C & heat, Dakota Digital gauge cluster (not calibrated), Kenwood AM/FM/Bluetooth stereo with rear mounted speakers. Matching upholstered trunk with carpeting and rear mounted battery.

SUMMARY: This is a great performing Mustang and handles like it’s on ‘rails’. The 5.0L engine gives it plenty of performance. Outside of the holes where the mirrors were the finish is very good. Car draws attention wherever it goes. Needs some finishing touches on the electrical end.
