Up for sale by a private party is a “numbers matching” and recently restored 1966 Corvette roadster with the L72, 427 c. in. 425 h.p. option, 4-speed, in the original color of Milano Maroon. The car has 50,000 original miles and has been driven less than 5 miles since its body off the frame restoration. It is believed to only have been a 2-owner car. Current owner won the car in a raffle and cannot drive it due to health reasons.
Here is a little history on the 1966 Corvette 427. This was the first year for the 427 cubic inch engine from GM and it came in two versions. A 390 horse power model (which really dyno’d in at 400 hp) and a 425 horse power version which really produced 450 h.p. Because of insurance rates the 450 h.p. engine was rated at 425 hp, but the engine was not “de-tuned”. It retained the high-performance mechanical cam and 11.0:1 compression ratio.
Stepping forward to the Corvette you are currently viewing. It is a true numbers matching “I.P.” 6114732 block; casting # 3869942 “P” stamp, which retains the original tach-drive distributor, Winter’s aluminum intake manifold, and points ignition.

Everything works like new including the odometer, clock, and the radio. As you can see, no expense was spared on this total restoration.
Please note that the carburetor and fuel line leading from the fuel filter to the carb, IS NOT an original unit. It is an 800 cfm “double pumper” Holley 4 barrel prepared by Brad Urban at the Carb Shop in California.
