Here is a rare opportunity to own a “numbers matching,” highly optioned, and well-documented, originally purchased in California 1966 Corvette Stingray in Nassau blue. Of the approximately 27,720 units produced, only 2,380 were emission equipped and sent to California.

The car was ordered with a 327 c.i./300 hp. small block V8, 2-speed power glide transmission, air conditioning, power 4-wheel disc brakes, power steering, power windows (tinted), telescopic steering column, AM/FM radio with power antenna (still works), side pipes, knock-off wheels, Gold Lined B.F. Goodrich tires, and of course the A.I.R. (Air Injection Reactor) emission control system, which started in 1966 for cars going to California.
With regards to being “numbers matching,” it does appear everything does match from the Holley carburetor dated April 2, 1966, to the “HR” suffix on the engine pad and the 3.36:1 rear axle (open, code AK).
Briefly, the history began on 6/10/1966 when the original owner purchased the car from Cone Chevrolet in Anaheim, California. The documentation shows the Corvette staying in that family for more than 25 years before it was sold to several other owners/collectors, including the 1973 Heisman Trophy winner John Cappelletti, who continued to maintain the car in its original condition.
During this Stingray’s 56-year life and 104,000 actual miles, whenever the car needed attention, the work was performed, and the records prove it. Examples include:
Original Protect-O plate when the car was purchased.
In 1983 at approximately 44,000 miles, the car was repainted, had new carpeting, headliner, replaced of door panel, re-chroming the bumpers, and new mufflers.
The engine, transmission, and entire brake system were rebuilt in 2007 at 96,283 miles by Automotive Expertise of Huntington Beach, CA.
Every option on the Corvette functions as it did from the factory. Including the clock and factory A/C (converted to R134), which blows cold air. The car starts easily, has been garage kept, and comes with an indoor car cover.

Approximately 12 years ago, I started an online service assisting owners of Classic, Vintage, and Muscle cars to sell their vehicles on the internet without them leaving the garage.
