Sold and transported from Manchester, MD to Queens, NY. Rare optioned 1966 Chevrolet Corvette convertible in its original color of “Sunfire Yellow” with a black vinyl interior and both the hard and soft top. This color was only offered in 1966 & ’67. It retains it’s numbers matching 327 cu. in. / 300 hp (L75) V-8 and it is backed by the matching 2-speed automatic Power Glide transmission (M35). It is believed only 2,300 Corvettes of that year were produced in this color and about 9% of the total Corvette production were built with automatic transmissions.

PLEASE NOTE….ALL BIDS AND OFFERS MADE ON THIS VEHICLE WILL FOLLOW EBAY’S PROTOCOL OF PURCHASING. THIS MEANS THAT ONCE THE BID OR OFFER IS MADE OR ACCEPTED THE BUYER AGREES TO PURCHASE THE CAR IN “AS IS” CONDITION. DIRECT ALL QUESTIONS TO J.D. @ 410-937-0719.
- Additional factory options include: (J50) 4-wheel power disc brakes (note the master cylinder is a late model unit), (N40) power steering, (N32) teakwood steering wheel, and (C07) Auxiliary hardtop as well as the soft top.
- The history of the car is not known and there is no documentation, but it is believed that the Corvette had a “frame-on” restoration within the past 10 to 15 years due to the cars appearance and performance. It does start easily, runs strong, and doesn’t appear to use any oil. The actual mileage is 106,000.
- The body retains the original bonding strips, and the paint shows well. The exterior chrome, windows, and emblems are good shape with only a few scratches showing on the windshield frame.
- It should be noted that the hood appears slightly darker and may have been painted at another time.
- The original hardtop is in good condition and fits the car easily.
- The interior just had both seats taken down to their frames and redone using new foam, upholstery, and chrome trim. All factory gauges function except the clock and tachometer (because of the Mallory electronic distributor). But the AM radio works.
- The hardware for the soft top is in excellent condition, but there is a slight tear in the material, so a complete and new Al Knoch top is included (photo).
- The 327/300 hp engine is stock except for a Summit 650 cfm carburetor, Mallory distributor, and the “Corvette” high performance valve covers. All of the hoses and belts are in excellent condition.
- The suspension is stock and appears to have been recently refurbished. The rear differential houses the stock 3.36:1 (open) gears.
