The owner completed the build himself in 2017 and has logged less than 1400 miles!! It is a blast to drive and quite responsive. Please note that this vehicle was titled as a “New” 2013 Factor Five Racing Industries Mark IV model. Not a 1965 Cobra.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION:
The 363 cu in stroker motor uses a Dart block with a forged crank and 11:1 forged pistons (runs on premium fuel). It also uses Edelbrock Aluminum cylinder heads & intake, Quik Fuel 680 cfm carburetor, Pertronics Flame Thrower ignition, FFR (Factor Five Racing) long tube headers, Stainless Steel side pipes and heatshields. Engine was dyno’d at 472 hp at the flywheel.
The transmission is a Tremec TKO 500 with Wilwood clutch and Forte hydraulic slave cylinder.
Body and Paint:
FFR fiberglass body painted in a 2-stage Jaguar British Racing Green. Optional dual chrome roll bars. FFR wind wings. Chrome rear bumper and 8” Hella driving lights.
Interior:
FFR racing seats with 4-point harnesses. Upgrades include leather door panels, vintage gauge package (temp in Celsius), custom console, column turn signals, racing pedals and footrest, defroster with heat, and carpeted trunk.
Chassis:
Powder coated FFR frame and component parts. Three-link rear suspension with 8.8” Ford differential housing 3.73:1 posi gears, and Koni coil over shocks. Mustang II rack & pinion steering (power), Wilwood 4-wheel disc brake upgrade. Tires are 17” Nitto radials measuring 245 x 40 front and 305 x 35 rear. Wheels are chrome American Torque Thrust 17”.
Summary:
This is a great example of Ford’s legendary Cobra with better handling and creature comforts than the original. Shifts, starts, and drives great. The owner built the car to be a driver and not a trailer queen.
