1965 Dodge Coronet 500 Street Machine/Muscle Car powered by a professionally built “Blown” 440 c.i. Mopar Wedge engine with a 6:71 BDS supercharger and backed by a prepped 727 Torque Flight 3-speed automatic transmission.

The original ‘65 body is steel, while for weight savings, fiberglass fenders, bumpers, and a lift-off hood are used.
The build was completed about a year ago, and the Coronet has logged less than 300 miles. Please note the header ‘leak’ which can be heard in the video, has been fixed.
This is a great reliable “Street Machine” for someone who is looking for a car to cruise to the local drive-in and grab a lot of attention wherever it goes. Not a radical or finicky race car.
SPECIFICATIONS
- Body & Paint
- Starting with a solid steel body, it was stripped to bare metal before the 2-stage urethane paint was applied.
- No “bondo” or “mud”.
- Windows and trim are original and in good condition.
- No cracks or scratches
- The windshield is new.
- All exterior lights and turn signals function.
- Engine & Transmission
- ‘60’s vintage 440 block was bored .030” + and uses a forged crank and pistons with 8.5:1 compression ratio.
- The cam is a flat tappet hydraulic with a double roller timing chain set.
- Ignition is electronic by Mopar.
- Supercharger is by BDS with twin Holley 700’s on top.
- Long tube headers with 2 ½” exhaust and mufflers exiting before the differential.
- The oversized aluminum radiator with electric fans is from Be Cool.
- Fuel is delivered by a 16-gallon fuel cell using a Holley electric pump with a Fram canister filter and braided black lines.
- The 727 Torque Flight transmission was treated to a 2400-stall converter, shift kit, and deep aluminum pan.
- NO MANUAL VALVE BODY.
- Interior
- New ‘Pro Car’ bucket seats, seat belts, and carpeting.
- Cheetah shifter
- Stewart Warner gauges including Tachometer, boost, oil pressure, water temperature, and ammeter.
- The battery was relocated to the trunk with ‘kill switch’.
- Chassis & Differential
- New front end including a drilled ‘K’ member, springs, and polyurethane bushings.
- The brake system includes discs up front and drums in the rear.
- Rear differential is a rebuilt 8 ¾” unit with 3.71:1 posi-traction gears and new springs.
- Wheels are 15” American Torque Thrust with B.F. Goodrich radials measuring 215×75 front and 275/60 rear.
