- This is not an NCRS (National Corvette Restorers Society) numbers matching show car, but a great representation of a by-gone-era for C1 Corvettes. The car starts easily, runs smoothly and rides like an early Corvette. No power steering or power brakes.
- The history of the car is unknown, except that a prior owner who did the restoration liked the trim of the ’61 model vs the ’62. The exhaust, brakes (including lines and hardware), fuel lines, shocks, and carburetor appear to be new.
- The body appears to be original with no visible replacement panels. The single stage paint is not perfect but looks great for a driver. The removeable hardtop was painted slightly darker. There is a spot near the master cylinder area where brake fluid had been spilled on the body (see photos). There is no convertible top or soft top hardware with the car.
- The chrome, stainless, and glass are in fair to good condition with little to no evidence of fogging or pitting. Electrically, all the lights, turn signals, wipers, and brake lights function. The wiring harness looks original.
- The interior appears to have had the seats recovered, dash pad replaced, and carpeting replaced. The factory oil pressure, fuel level, temperature, and voltmeter function, but the speedometer/odometer and tachometer do not. It is evident that the car was a four speed, and the factory shifter was modified to handle the shifting of the Turbo 350. There is no shift indicator.
- The chassis looks in good condition with a rust-free frame, factory drum brakes and solid rear axle with 3.36:1 open gears. There is a section on the frame which appears to have been professionally patched (see photo). As the video shows, the car ‘tracks’ straight.
- If you are looking for a reliable driver to bring back memories and draw attention wherever it goes this is an ideal C1 Corvette.
