Sold & transported from Baltimore, MD to Seneca, SC. Up for sale for the first time in nearly 56 years was this beautiful 1962 Chevrolet Corvette convertible. Over the years the Corvette has gone through many changes, but a 6-year frame off build finally was completed in 1996. Since then, only 1,500 miles have been logged on the odometer attending and winning car shows and cruise-ins.

PLEASE NOTE….ALL BIDS AND OFFERS MADE ON ANY VEHICLE(S) WILL FOLLOW EBAY’S PROTOCOL OF PURCHASING. THIS MEANS THAT ONCE THE BID OR OFFER IS MADE OR ACCEPTED THE BUYER AGREES TO PURCHASE THE CAR IN “AS IS” CONDITION. PLEASE DIRECT ALL QUESTIONS TO J.D. @ 410-937-0719.
- The owner did most of the work on the car including the engine build, bodywork, paint, upholstery, and assembly. No expense was spared. Receipts for most of the parts as well as photos are included in the sale.
- Selling for personal reasons.
- Everything, except the engine is original to the car. The 1963 327 cu.in. small block has been treated to 4-bolt mains, larger steel crank, 11:1 pistons, solid lifter cam with roller rocker arms, dual point distributor, Edelbrock Torker intake manifold and Holley 750 cfm double pumper carburetor. It still runs a generator and uses a new Harrison radiator to keep it cool.
- The transmission is the original (rebuilt) close ratio T10 4-speed and it is backed by 4.56:1 posi-traction gears.
- As far as the suspension on this Corvette, everything was rebuilt. This includes the original steering and drum brakes. Up front Chevy station wagon springs replaced the stock items, and an extra leaf was added to each of the rear springs to give the Corvette a slightly higher stance. Vintage Lakewood traction bars were also added. The 15” slotted aluminum wheels are vintage Appliance mags with Goodyear 225/70R/15 radial tires.
- According to the owner the ’62 body has never been in an accident and retains the original bonding strips. While doing the bodywork the owner molded in an “L-88” style hood. Most of the chrome is original and in excellent condition. The black urethane paint is by Sikkens and 6 coats of clear were used to seal the color. For a paint job closing in on almost 30 years, the Corvette looks very straight with only a few blemishes (see photos). It’s still a multi-show winner.
- The interior was redone as stock and original except for an updated radio, Sun Tachometer (still running a tach drive), and Hurst shifter. All the factory gauges function except the clock. The original ’62 radio is included in the sale.
- All exterior lights, turn signals, wipers, brake lights, and high beams function.
- Please note that the hood is not closed completely in the photographs. This is because a new cable has been ordered and it will be installed before the Corvette goes to its new owner. All hood latches work fine.
- This Corvette draws a crowd wherever it goes and has won numerous awards for “Best in Show” over the years.
