- According to the prior owner the car was purchased at an auction in 2019 shortly after it had an ‘on the frame’ restoration which included a rebuild of the engine and transmission. The small block retains the original solid lifter cam, 11.25:1 compression ratio and Rochester fuel-injection. Recently the fuel-injection system was rebuilt by John Gratta and the car starts easily and is a strong performer.
- This Corvette also came from the factory with the “JJ” tagged Borg-Warner T-10 4-speed with the 2.54 first gear. The posi-traction rear differential has the factory ratio of 4.11:1 (CN letters and original tag).
- It is not known when the car was repainted, but it does retain the original bonding strips and shows no evidence of an accident. The 2-stage urethane paint has a few flaws, such as some bubbles on the cowl from filling the master cylinder (see photos) but overall looks fantastic. All the windows are in good condition and go up and down easily. The exterior chrome is excellent too and has no evidence of pitting or scratches. The convertible top is white and in very good condition and does appear to have been replaced.
- The interior looks original and does show some age (see photos), but no major rips or tears. All the gauges function including the heat. Only the clock and radio do not work. Please note the heater duct which is missing in the engine compartment is on order and will be in place when the car is sold.
- The trunk appears to be original and includes the jack, wrench, and a spare tire.
- The 15” tires are Goodyear Silver Streak II which are approximately 8 years old with very low.
- If you are looking for a true piece of Chevrolet history which is a numbers matching show winner, as well as fun to drive, you will enjoy this fuel-injected Corvette.
