DESCRIPTION:
1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-Door sedan Resto-Mod in Black Cherry metallic and powered by a 350 cu. in. V8 with a Turbo 350 3-speed automatic transmission. This show winner was purchased from a dealership approximately 7 years and about 2,000 miles ago and has had several upgrades performed during that time including a new AM/FM/USB & Bluetooth system, LED lights, and power windows. Engine & Transmission:
350 cu. in Chevrolet V8 with about 300 horsepower. Mild hydraulic cam, MSD billet distributor, 6A box, ceramic coated headers, FlowMaster mufflers, Edelbrock 650 cfm carburetor and Performer intake manifold, custom aluminum radiator with a thermostatically controlled fan. It also uses the “Evans Waterless” anti-freeze system.
The Turbo 350 transmission has a shift kit and a 2500 rpm stall converter. Shifting is handled with a B&M floor shifter.
Paint & Bodywork:
It appears that most of the body panels are solid with no evidence of ‘bondo’ or cracking. The 2-stage Black Cherry metallic urethane shows very well with only a couple of bubbles on the lower section of the passenger side door (see photo). The stainless-steel trim and chrome are in excellent condition. All the glass is tinted. The power windows operate using the original window cranks, and the power antenna is activated when the stereo is turned on. Exterior lights are LED items with halos on the headlights. A third brake light is incorporated into the trunk emblem. The only noted piece of trim missing is the ‘connector’ stainless steel clip on the rear window molding.
Interior:
Custom reupholstered interior with bucket seats and console in black vinyl with ‘Chevrolet’ emblems in the head rests. All the factory gauges and dash lights work. Vintage Air A/C & heat works nicely. Ididit tilt chrome steering column and nicely refinished dashboard. The upholstery theme continues into the trunk where you will find a toolbox cover and external battery terminals for the relocated battery. No evidence of broken seams or tears in either the interior or trunk.
Chassis:
Stock ’57 Chevrolet frame and suspension with new polyurethane bushings, shocks, 1” lowering springs up front, Power steering and power brakes (disc front and drums rear). Rear sway bar added to the ’57 Chevy rear differential. Wheels are 17” American Racing with Coker American redline tires measuring 235/55R/17.
