Irish green 1951 Mercury 2-door sedan “Leadsled” customized like the nostalgic 1950s. Body modifications include ’54 Chevy grill, nosed hood, shaved doors (open with door poppers), decked trunk (opens with remote), frenched head and taillights, fender skirts, sunken antenna, lakes pipes, Appleton spots, and louvered hood.
Power comes from a stock late model 350 c.i. Chevy small block with an Edelbrock 600 cfm 4-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake manifold. A new gas tank and lines were added when the car was built several years ago. The electrical system has been converted to 12-volt.

The Merc was built to be a reliable and comfortable cruiser. Easy to drive over a trip of 200 miles or more. Options include Vintage Air A/C & Heat (which does work), new suspension parts, non-power disc brakes upfront and drum on the rear, power steering, rear window defroster, and AM/FM/CD/USB player.
A Hurst shifter is used to control the Turbo 350 automatic transmission while a Chevrolet 10-bolt (open) rear differential with 3.23:1 (open) gears allows for a great ride and smooth cruising.
The Kelly-Green 2-stage urethane paint looks great for its age. Overall, on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being perfect. The body and paint are a 5+. The original Merc body appears solid including the frame and floor pans. Chrome is in good to fair condition. the Tinted windows are clear and free from age bubbles. Some bodywork is surfacing on the deck lid (see photo), and there are some road chips. The approximate mileage since completion is 8,000.
A ‘Shamrock’ green theme continues through the interior with velour seats and Kelly-green carpeting. The trunk is also finished with the same materials. Newer style interior gauges were added when the electrical system was upgraded. Original gauges do not work. Still retains the push-button starter on the dash.

I have been an active eBay seller of cars and other items for since 2002 and maintained a close to a 100% rating during most of that period. Around 2011 I started an online service assisting owners of Classic, Vintage, and Muscle cars to sell their vehicles without them leaving the garage.
