- Starting with the ’39 body, one of the first things you will notice is the windshield. Normally it has a metal divider in the middle with two pieces of glass. It now has a one-piece windshield which is tinted and curved to fit the ’39 body. Next notice the custom ‘Chevrolet’ emblem turn signals in the front fenders with modified 1970 Camaro split bumpers. The top two sections of the hood as well as the trunk, with a sunken tag section, open electronically (see video).
- The engine and transmission were rebuilt to the stock Buick GN specs and puts out about 245 horsepower with the custom stainless steel exhaust system. It uses a serpentine belt system too.
- The suspension includes power rack & pinion steering, an independent front end with coil over shocks, 4-wheel power disc brakes, electric parking brake, rear coil over shocks with a 1955 Chevrolet differential using 3.42:1 posi-traction gears. And the Chevrolet rides on custom Chrome 20” wheels with Extreme Nitto NT 555 235/35ZR/20 unidirectional tires on all corners.
- The interior is just as unique to the car as well. Starting with a shortened and custom fitted 1955 Chevrolet dashboard with an Autometer Quad system with oil pressure, water temperature, voltmeter, and fuel along side the speedometer/odometer and tachometer. The quartz clock does work.
- The front and rear seats are from a Dodge Omni and appear to fit perfectly. The headliner was custom made with an added console and auxiliary lights. A Lokar shifter handles the 200R4.
- The trunk was finished off to complement the interior using a similar pattern and a center compartment for the battery.
- The only issues with the car seemed to have occurred in the garage. The right front fender was ‘bumped’ at some point, and although there are no chips or cracks in the area there is a slight dent. There are also a couple of small scratches and a crack along the right side of the cowl.
- The only thing left to say is this 1939 Chevrolet is ready for the car cruise or show circuit.
- Selling for personal reasons.
