According to the present owner, this Rod was built a number of years ago and recently had a repaint which looks excellent. From what’s known about the car’s history, the original builder drove the car all over the USA attending various events and logged approximately 30,000 miles on the coupe. It is very reliable and runs great.
BODY & PAINT: All steel body including running boards and rumble seat. Front window tilts out and rear window rolls down, just like they did originally. The paint is a 2-stage urethane gold metallic with hand painted pinstriping to add to the ‘50’s flair. Custom fender skirts with ’55 Pontiac side trim are a nice touch too. All the glass is in good condition and even the vinyl section in the top looks good. Easy access to the rumble seat with original style ‘step’ pads on the fenders. Taillights are LED.
INTERIOR: Brown vinyl roll & pleated seats in the passenger and rumble seat areas with matching door panels and color coordinated carpeting. Beautiful wood grain finish on the window frames and dash. Everything is painted to compliment the exterior of the car. No rips or tears in the upholstery. Instrumentation is by Classic and all of the gauges function. Tilt steering column with shift selector painted in gold. A Kenwood AM/FM/Bluetooth player is in the glove box with speakers behind the seat.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION: It appears to be a stock 350 cu. in. Chevrolet V8 with a mild cam, Edelbrock “Durashine” aluminum intake manifold, Holley 650 cfm carburetor, chrome high output alternator, HEI distributor, and block hugger headers. The 2 ½” exhaust system exits out the back through Turbo style mufflers.
The Turbo 350 transmission appears to be stock and shifts through the gears easily.
SUSPENSION: It looks like a stock ’36 Ford frame with a Mustang II rack & pinion front end with coil over shocks. The 8” Ford rear uses 3” lowering blocks with leaf springs for that “tail dragging” effect. Tires are Silvertown 15” wide white walls with Olds Fiesta spinners. Four NEW Silvertown tires are included with the sale.
OVERALL OBSERVATIONS: This ’36 Coupe appears to have it all together, the looks, performance, and ride. Paint and bodywork looks very good (see photos) with only a few blemishes. Driver’s door needs adjustment (has to be shut firmly).
