ENGINE & TRANSMISSION: The 383 cu. in. Chevrolet stroker engine is from “The Blueprint Company” and has been dyno’d at 437 horsepower @ 5400 rpm and 473 #/ft of torque @ 4300 rpm. Everything is new from the oil pan to the Holley 750 cfm carburetor. The ignition is an MSD HEI unit and ‘block hugger’ headers exit into Borla mufflers and side exhaust. The high output alternator & A/C compressor uses March pulleys, and a high torque starter was added.
The 4L60 transmission was rebuilt using a manual ‘lock up’ converter and shift kit.
INTERIOR: Bucket seats are covered in a black & white cloth tweed with vinyl sides. Door panels match using pleated vinyl pattern and cloth. There are no stains, tears, broken seams, or rips in the material. Tilt and chrome steering column by Ididit. The A/C & heat are by Vintage Air (blows cold air). Autometer gauges monitor the performance of the ’34 using Speedometer/odometer, Tachometer, oil pressure, fuel, water temperature, and voltmeter. A B&M shifter handles the 4L60 transmission. For music an AM/FM/CD/Bluetooth unit by Pioneer was installed with speakers mounted behind the seats.
The carpeted trunk with mounted battery are accessed using a cable under the rear license plate area.
CHASSIS: Mustang II rack & pinion steering (manual) with new bushings and wheel bearings. Power brakes (disc front & drums rear). Rear differential uses a Mustang “Quad-Link” 8.8 Ford with 3.73:1 posi-traction gears. Wheels are traditional 15” Cragar’s with new Cooper tire radials measuring 205/60R/15 front and 275/50R/15 rear). Adjustable air bags are mounted in the rear coil springs for tire clearance.
BODY & PAINT: The Street Beast body came with a 2 ½” chopped top. The paint and bodywork are estimated to be 20 years old. It appears to be a single stage enamel with pearl flames. There are no cracks in the fiberglass, but there are areas where it has aged. See photos. All the glass is in very good condition and side windows roll up and down easily. Tint is an adhesive. Side grilles for hood included (see photo).
SUMMARY: Overall, it is a great Street Rod you can drive anywhere. It has been updated and upgraded with higher quality performance parts to make it very reliable, quick, comfortable, and fun to drive. It draws attention at every show and cruise-in.
