The Coupe was built in the early to mid-1990’s and always garage kept. The current mileage of 8,300 is accurate from when the car was completed.
The body is painted in a single stage urethane which looks fantastic for its age even though there are a few small blemishes (see photos). All the metal appears to be original without any replacement panels or ‘bondo’ being used. All the chrome is in excellent condition, the power windows function easily and both the front and rear window can be opened for ventilation.
The small block Chevrolet engine was rebuilt using 10:1 forged pistons so it can run on pump gas and a mild hydraulic cam was added. A new Edelbrock 650 cfm carburetor sits on a matching aluminum intake manifold with an Accel HEI distributor. Additionally, a Powermaster high torque starter was used along with a high-performance fuel pump. A thermostatically controlled electric fan keeps the ’32 cool even in the hottest summer weather. The exhaust system uses block hugger headers with stainless steel 2 ½” pipes going through Flowmaster mufflers.
The interior is done in a cloth “burlap” material and is in excellent condition. There are no apparent stains, tears or broken seams. The Vintage Air A/C & heating system was recently upgraded with a new under-the-dash unit and hoses. The original dash was redone with VDO gauges including speedometer/odometer, fuel, water temperature, oil pressure, and voltmeter. A tilt steering column was added to allow easy in and out access and comfort. The wiper does work and the arm and blade snap in place when needed. The wiring harness is by Ron Francis.
The trunk is finished in the same material as the interior and uses a vintage metal Coke cooler for a battery box.
The ’32 frame was smoothed and then painted gloss black and uses a 4-bar system with a 4” dropped axle and new disc brakes up front and a 9” Ford differential with new coil over shocks and drum brakes in the rear. The new American Racing Rebel polished aluminum 15” wheels wear Doral SDL Sport radial 185/65/15 up front and Milestar 235/75/15 radials on the rear.
This ’Deuce Coupe’ is a strong performer and is both comfortable and reliable enough to drive anywhere. Owner is selling for personal reasons.
