For sale by a private collector is this rotisserie restored and numbers matching 1962 Chevrolet Impala SS Convertible in its original awesome ‘Roman Red’ exterior, white top, #9 wire 4-speed shifter, and 327 cu. in./300 h.p small block. The builder put the car back to exactly the way it came from the Chevrolet plant in St. Louis, MO in 1962, EXCEPT for the red interior (original color was ‘Fawn’) and ‘Smitty’ style mufflers. Just as an FYI, all of the body and floor panels are original without any patch panels. The new interior is NOT dyed red, but a completely new SS item.
The restoration was completed in 2015, has only been driven 400 miles, and EVERYTHING on this car was replaced or rebuilt, including the engine, Borg Warner 4-speed (original # match), power top mechanisms, and the 3.36:1 Posi-traction differential. Brakes were not upgraded but left to the factory standard non-power drums, but of course all new hardware. Likewise the steering is not power either. Additionally, the undercarriage was not left in the original ‘red oxide primer’ but painted similar to the rest of the car in Roman Red urethane (2-stage).
The pictures speak for themselves. Factory original fender skirts, photographic documentation of the Impala’s entire build is included along with receipts.
